Thank you everyone (100 responses!) for helping us choose which artist will guide the redesign of Sandringham Reserve. Together we chose Katy Wallace and her vision "Neighbourhood Picnic".

Katy's artist statement and images are below, and we'll have more information as the design is developed further.

Also, congratulations Sophie, winner of the $100 voucher to Paradise Restaurant.



Artist Statement: Designed as an interpretive space, use it how you like - ride your trike around the circular track, play ball on the rubber circle mat, have your takeaways lounging on the warm deck, send the kids off to set up a fort and swing from the trees on the playground. This is a design created from the identity of its place, food - culture and community make it what it is. It will be a welcome oasis for locals and visitors alike.

A big thanks for all your ideas!

Thank you to everyone that came along to our events and gave us your ideas on how the Sandringham Reserve and Playground could be upgraded!

We have compiled your feedback and given it to the Auckland Council to give them some ideas to start the process. Later this year Council will come back to SPiCE with a short list of ideas - so keep an eye out because we'll be asking for you to tell us what you think of these suggestions.

Sandringham Reserve Playground is soon to be renewed, share your ideas to help make our playground extraordinary

We are on the hunt for some inspirational ideas to make our Sandringham Reserve playground extraordinary, so we have devised the ULTIMATE weekend and school holiday challenge!

Take your kids to at least 3 playgrounds and let us know what they and you love about them by 3rd August.

All responses go into the draw to win a family meal worth $60 from one of Sandringham’s renowned local restaurants.
